- How do I book my photography session?
- You can reach us through the contact page on this website or call the Sun & Moon Photography office at (810)339-0260. *(Note: Our office number does take messages for two Companys).
- Where can I have my photos taken?
- You can choose from our in-studio, outdoor-studio, or on location. We have specific photographic locations that are available to us, but we can discuss other options if you have a place in mind.
- Where is the studio located?
- We are located in Saint John’s, Michigan. Our studio address is 606 Circle Dr.
- When should I schedule my photo session?
- The sooner the better, to secure a time and date while it is still available. (Example: Seniors should begin booking their Senior Picture sessions in their junior year. Mommy-to-be should schedule for their maternity session at 7 to 8 months along. 1st birthday sessions are typically booked around the child’s 10th month mark of age.
- How much do I have to pay to book my photo session?
- When booking your session, plan to pay a non-refundable retainer fee of $50. to secure your spot (most people leave $100 deposit). Remaining balance of chosen photo session is due before shoot begins.
- What type of payment is accepted?
- We accept both cash and check (made out to LeeAnna Jakus). Due to the increase of fees, we do Not accept cards anymore.
- Can I have a consultation before booking a photo session?
- Absolutely! Every photo session we have provides a pre-shoot consultation meeting, Free of charge and with no obligation. This settles nerves and allows us to determine if were a good fit for working as your photographers.
- What should I bring or wear for my photo session?
- This depends on which photo session you are wanting but no need to worry, we will go over this and any other questions during the consultation meeting. We do offer some maternity dresses and fashion gowns for our clients to use. We also offer newborn outfits and some baby outfits as well.
- Should I wear my glasses?
- It is completely up to you. We will do our best to keep glare and reflections out of the glasses as much as possible.
- Should I accompany my senior for their photo shoot?
- Yes! This is a huge moment for both of you and an experience that only comes once.
- Can I bring a friend to my photo session?
- Of course! We welcome any new potential client. As long as they’re not distracting or disturbing the photo session.
- Do you reschedule if the weather is bad?
- Yes, we live in Michigan and sometimes Mother Nature doesn’t feel like having a photo session done. We setup a “rain date” during the initial scheduling of your session.
- Can I post my pictures on social media?
- Yes, we provide a formatted file for social media use with most of our sessions for that reason. We do ask to be tagged or credited for the photos when you post them.
- Can I make my own reprints of my purchased pictures?
- Yes, we provide a print release with most of the photo sessions. We also offer print packages to purchase. You are Not allowed to change, edit, or alter the image in any manner or way.
- Do you offer hair and make-up?
- No, we recommend going to a stylist that you know or like, but if you need help, we can ask a few people at our disposal.
- What can I expect for my photo session?
- You can expect a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and quality you deserve!
- Are my photos edited?
- Yes, we do edits on any photo that needs it.
- How long do I need to wait to receive my proofs?
- We typically ask for 4 weeks to have proofs finished depending on the size of the photo session.
- How long do I have to order my prints with you?
- Once you receive your proofs, you’ll have two weeks to order prints through us. Any time after the two weeks there will be a $50 storage fee applied to the print order.
- What if I lose the USB drive with my pictures on it?
- For the photo sessions that receive a flash drive, the replacement of USB drives is $40. We keep the photo images for at least one year after the session.
- How long does it take to receive my print order?
- Typically, three to four weeks, depending on the order size.
- Can I have my pet in my Photos?
- Absolutely! We love animals and have fun with their different personalities. This must be known prior to the photo session so we can meet the pet and have them use to us beforehand. We do ask that they have their shots, and you understand that you are responsible for them at all times.
- Can you photograph people with special needs?
- Yes, we will ask for more details about their needs during our consultation meeting to provide the best experience we possible can during the session.
- Do you photograph weddings?
- No, we have chosen not to photograph weddings as they require a lot of time to be done correctly which we feel would take away from the rest of our Sun & Moon client’s needs.
